These objectives serve the main priority of the project: bringing in the deep, transformative changes needed to prepare pupils for a fast-changing society, economy and future. The project answers the need for a systemic green component in education and responds to the challenges that exist.
- Enable teachers to support an action-based climate change education curriculum.
- Improve the digital competences of teachers and pupils and encourage whole-class co-creation in learning and teaching, so that pupils actively help create content with their teachers and with each other.
- Guide teachers in spotting eco-anxiety and eco-pessimism so that they can help their pupils get past fear and develop critical thinking and media literacy.
- Build on the pilot results to measure the educational value of comic literacy in climate change education.
- Encourage and enable teachers and school leadership teams to improve their teaching and organisational practice through outreach at local and European level.
Over the life of the project the consortium is expected to produce the following results:
- WP1: Project management
- WP2: MIRACLE — a sustainability mindset in European schools
- WP3: MIRACLE MOOC
- WP4: MIRACLE augmented classroom
- WP5: Dissemination and outreach activities
