The Wastelines project addresses the need to take plastic out of our food and to cut down on processed food, since it is clear that the very foods associated with better health are the ones with the least impact on the environment.

  • Raise awareness of the links between obesity and climate change
  • Enable communities to manage their diet in order to reduce the threat or the incidence of obesity
  • Enable communities to understand the idea of a low-plastic diet and to make better informed consumer choices
  • Train primary teachers to develop their own challenge-based learning resources dealing with obesity and climate change

Over the life of the project the partners are expected to produce the following results:

  • A compendium of WebQuests on diet and nutrition challenges
  • Digital scenarios presenting environmental awareness challenges
  • A continuing professional development (CPD) training programme for primary teachers
  • Climate change and obesity — a digital challenges portal
